This archive provides you with two improved PANTONE spot color library files: PANTONEC.BCF (for coated stock) and PANTONEU.BCF (for uncoated stock). PageMaker 5.0 reads information from these files when you choose PANTONE COATED or PANTONE UNCOATED from the “Libraries” option in the “Edit color” dialog box. These updated .BCF files greatly improve process simulations when proofing spot color work. The earlier versions of these files, included with PageMaker 5.0 retail and upgrade packages, could produce inadequate process simulations when proofing spot colors targeted for coated or uncoated paper.
To use the updated files included on this disk, simply drag the two files into the Colors folder within your Aldus folder, which by default is stored in your System folder. Click “OK” when the system asks if you want to overwrite the older versions of the .BCF files.
We suggest you copy the new .BCF files and ReadMe from this archive onto a diskette and store it with your original PageMaker 5.0 disk set, so that if for any reason you reinstall PageMaker 5.0, you will have the improved color library files to work with.
